For the creative and curious scientist in all of us who finds magic in nature, this immersive workshop is designed for those who are captivated by the colors, textures, and wild beauty of the natural world — and who believe that home is best when the soul of its keeper is reflected.

You will learn how to extract rich, organic inks from wildflowers and botanicals, transforming nature’s palette into your own artistic medium. The use of natural modifiers will be taught, exploring the dynamic of intensifying and altering ink colors. Then, we will apply these natural inks to two velvet pieces:

  • a 16” round pillow case that will luminously accent your home environment

  • a 6” x 8” piece suitable as an accent for a creative project or as a grounding element for a momentary still-life

The interaction of the ink dyes with the silk-blend velvet is a fluid, intriguing experience - an amalgam of your own will and hand, along with the unpredictable playfulness of energy - resulting in magical, richly-colored pieces. By the end of this workshop, you will leave with more than just stunning handmade pieces — but a deeper connection to nature, and to your own heart & hand creativity.
