Pixels to Threads: A Chakra Meditation of Head, Heart & Hand
Chakras are energy centers within our physical body that are said to affect our well-being - physical, emotional, sensory, instinctual, intuitive, and spiritual. Ancient yogis believe that keeping the chakras aligned, balanced and clear allows for enhanced mindfulness and overall health.
We will begin with a seated chakra meditation offered by Wanda, allowing the opportunity to connect to our internal landscape. This awareness will guide the creative self in the selection of a thread color palette to ignite a curative connection.
Maria will then guide you along your creative and healing journey as she shares her meditative artistry of combining needle + thread with imagery in the transformation of photography into 3-dimensional, tactile art pieces that tell a personal story through visual metaphor.
We will focus on using a simple running stitch, and explore various other stitches including alternating stitch directions and French knots, that will add unpredictable character, dimensionality and texture.
Prerequisite: Please send 2 - 3 images, color or black & white, to info@soolip.com by September 21. We will prepare these on 110 lb card stock and have them ready for you to create with on the day of the workshop.
Please Note: Workshop fees are non-refundable
